Dental Implants are a permanent, stable replacement for one or more missing teeth.  A dental implant replaces both the crown and root of the missing tooth, providing an exceptionally secure and naturalistic tooth replacement.   This picture shows a patient who had a bridge on the lower right side.  The bridge failed, leaving a gap, however, the lower right second molar was able to be saved with a new crown. The tooth was able to be saved for several years and with a unilateral removal partial denture, the patient was able to have some chewing function. Unfortunately, the tooth eventually needed to be extracted, leaving a three tooth gap on the lower right side.  Options were discussed with the patient and the patient decided to pursue dental implant placement and restoration.   Family Dentistry with Drs. Ogle, Schmitz, Hart, and Fickas are prepared to assist in your needs for dental implants.  Continue to read our blog with the dental implant process and progression of improving this patient’s smile.
